Ozzy Osbourne is the latest musician to try his hand at NFT. On Monday, December 27, the Prince of Darkness revealed on Instagram that he is releasing CryptoBatz, his very first collection of non-fungible tokens.
“I am launching the af-king NFT project. 9,666 unique bats designed by your humble servant, ”Osbourne wrote in his article, along with a glimpse of two bats – a traditional black bat with the 73-year-old circular tinted sunglasses as well as a bright pink smiling bat without teeth.
“I tried to participate in the NFT action for a while, so when I asked Sharon a bored monkey for Christmas after several failed attempts to buy mine, and she said no, then I decided to create my own. ”Osbourne said in a press release. “CryptoBatz is an af-king mental project for collectors and fans of NFT. The design pays homage to one of my most iconic moments on stage and is a chance to acquire a rare piece of art history. I love it!”
Project NFT is slated to launch in January, with the title CryptoBatz referencing the now infamous moment Osbourne bit the head of a bat during a concert in Des Moines, Iowa in 1982.
The collection, created in collaboration with the NFT Sutter Systems studio, also allows CrytoBatz owners to create NFT mutations by causing their Cryptobatz to “bite” other NFTs into their Apple digital wallets. Known as “MutantBatz”, the feature will allow Cryptobatz buyers to create NFT mutations with NFT Bored Ape Yacht Club, SupDucks and Cryptotoadz, as well as an unannounced fourth entity.
To accompany the NFT collection, in the first quarter of next year, Osbourne will also launch “AncientBatz,” billed as a worldwide “scavenger hunt” for a special Batz in the collection. Open only to existing Cryptobatz holders, each AncientBat will have the ability to “bite” other NFTs up to 100 times, giving them increased powers to raise MutantBatz.
The CryptoBatz presale is available through the project’s official Discord server, where 2,500 guaranteed presale passes will also be distributed.
