Built on a more energy efficient blockchain, Tezos, Gap’s first NFT collaboration is designed with Brandon Sines, the artist behind Frank Ape
Today, Gap announced the global launch of its first collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to bring its iconic brand and product to new and existing customers in a rapidly evolving digital ecosystem. For this launch, the brand is presenting a gamified digital experience celebrating creatives and offering customers the unique opportunity to own a limited edition collectible Gap hoodie.
For this release, Gap is collaborating with Brandon Sines, the artist behind Frank Ape, for a limited edition. Community, creativity, and self-expression are core values in Sines’ art, which embodies positivity and equality, and aligns with Gap’s values of modern American optimism.

As part of the company’s commitment to doing the right thing for the planet, it chose to leverage Tezos, an open source blockchain, to create the customer experience. Tezos uses a more energy-efficient approach to securing its network, allowing it to operate with minimal power consumption and a low carbon footprint.
Available exclusively at gap.com/nft starting today, Gap’s digital collectibles will feature four levels: Common, Rare, Epic, and Unique. Starting at an affordable price, the first tier, Common, will be on sale from 9:00 a.m. PT on January 13 for 2 tez (XTZ) each until 8:59 a.m. PT on January 15. Currently 2 tez cost around 8.30 USD. , but the exact conversion rates may vary based on fluctuations in market prices.
Additional drops will be available over the next two weeks: Rare on January 15 for 6 tez, or around US $ 24.90 each, Epic on January 19 for 100 tez or around US $ 415.00 each, and One of a Kind. on auction January 24, all starting at 9:00 a.m. PT respectively. Digital collectibles will be available on a first come, first served basis, with limited editions to Rare and Epic levels.
